Here’s my first post and let me start by saying that I am quite excited to be a part of the best arcade related blog out there. I’m not just saying that either – since I found out about Arcade Heroes a few months ago, it’s become a part of my daily online visitation ritual. Most other gaming sites out there don’t seem to ‘get it’ when it comes to arcades, so this has been a refreshing haven. Check out my profile for an idea of my history with arcades.

I’ll use this post to bring attention to a little known arcade game that may interest people that enjoy hitting flying fish with bats. Gone Fishing claims to be the number one restaurant and bar arcade game that places you in the paws of a polar bear catching fish by smacking them with a bat. You then see how far you can get the fish from your position.

This isn’t the next House of the Dead or Super Cars by any means, being reminiscent of Flash based games like Bowman or Penguin Launcher. At the very least though, it offers a type of game that would certainly work well at the bar. It probably won’t find it’s way into many standalone arcades, but if you ever are stopping by Chuck E. Cheese’s, check it out and let us know if it’s worth trying out.
UPDATE: I did come across this at a Dave & Busters in 2011. It was an unexpected sighting, although I didn’t witness anyone give it a try while I was around.
