Anyone familiar with fighters knows that some of the best games involve a crossover of two series of some sort. One of the most popular fighters out there today is Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and there have been rumblings of a third installment coming along in that series; more recently we saw Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and in the past we’ve seen SNK Vs. Capcom. But while Capcom has seemed to get all of the crossover love, there are two other series that might clash together if Tekken 6’s director gets his way : Virtua Fighter Vs. Tekken. Right off the bat I can see some problems with this – since the two games are very different so what style would would the game follow – VF or TK or something new competely? That is a very tough line to follow but if the fans want it, they just might get it. What are your thoughts on a possible VF Vs. TK game?

Let’s have Dead or Alive vs. Tekken, and leave out the boring one.
this would be awsome i hope it comes to fruit ,if the price isnt like tekken 6 or sf4 id pick this up for my arcade :)being a massive sega fan.
Between high prices and very short periods between arcade and console releases it makes it difficult to grab a fighter right now. I would think that since they obviously plan on a console release that they could give us operators a break and not make us have to pay up on their development costs which they will obviously recuperate with the console release.
Meh. If such a game actually happened they’d probably have to dumb down the Virtua Fighter half, that wouldn’t be fun. Likely wouldn’t see a board on this side of the Pacific anyway, if the way Sega treats 5R is anything to go by.
this would deffinatly work in the arcade. though since they are two different games they would have to calibrate the controls so that it would fit all tekken and virtua fighter fighters, in other words a control system that is a one size fits all. if this does happen they should release this in the arcade market first before even planning a console release and it also gives developers more time to spend on the home version while the operator can recoap the money spent on buying the arcade version just like what happened with tekken 6. they should also promote the arcade version more so that people can play this game in a pub, bowling alley, airport, cinema and any other places where your stuck waiting around and board and that way they would make more money on the machine. one thing to debate though is which arcade hardware would they use though. personally I think they’ll used namco’s PS3 based hardware since they’ll be wanting to port it to the home version.
I dont know why people say that Virtua Fighter has better fighting dynamics than Tekken, because thats total bullshit. Tekken is way more advanced in fighting proportions. They’re way more advanced in the way they move around and fight. Yet people still say that they’re better than them. I played Virtua Fighter and it was such a hard game that I just gave up. They make they enemy AI way to hard and the controls totally impossible. So if they make a cross-over, Im hopping they use the Tekken fighting system. For if they do, it might be selling as the most successful fighting game in a long time.
LOL! .. you claim that “tekken is better because its more advanced” then complain that Virtua Fighter is TOO HARD?!
I hate to be the one to break this too you, but it is not the game that sux, it is YOU! What kind of a loser complains that a game is too hard?! LOL .. this is hilarious.
No, SEGA refuse this offer. If I could not get want I wanted in Tekken 6 which was Character Creation. Than Harada could not get his way either.
virtua fight vs tekken might be a good crossover you just got to get the controlles good and story and selctons in the game you should be abl to chose any setting for the story from there you get to fight get mony win unlockbles all that stuff and the stages shoul be tekken and vk fused together to be one and at the end you shoul fight on big giant boss but he he have to be new something sega and namco can call okimi or something i hope they make the game
storyline for vk vs tk well for starters there should be a even numbers of char the there should be like a comet that hit the earth but at the same time which make theae two universes come togeather to fight inside of the rock is something you never scean in no namco game or sega it makes the 2 universes come together each person thinks that they came from the comet so you get fight choose your side
I love both games but if it were to happen that will be a miracle. Game play is the main thing they should focus on. Also, release it on arcade and promote it. Than, release home console.
i always thought the control for vF were like running in molasses. i know it was so you could buffer the next move or whatever but it just always seemed I was always getting ready to fight instead of pounding the crap out of my opponent. I can dance, duck dive and dodge in the tekken series and scarcly get touched and counter at will; but the VF series always seemed like I was playing a person with terrible footwork who was learning to fight. Being a fighter myself this was always a bother, so i just left it alone.
