It seems that news on the new Tron: Legacy movie is rolling out every day this week as part of a build-up to the official trailer release tomorrow and while we are not a movie blog which focuses on covering that, there has been some arcade stuff spiced throughout this.
As you can see above, the trailer tomorrow will show the protagonist wandering through his father’s old arcade, Flynn’s. It’s too bad all the games are covered, I admit to pausing the DVD on TRON to figure out what games were sitting there but with those shrouds over the games, that will make it slightly more difficult. Just for fun, what can you tell from the pic above? I can see a Pac-Man on the right but I’m at a loss at the rest – at least until the trailer comes out.
But as part of all the news here is something quite interesting – in Disney’s Tron hype build-up they are announcing everything from a trilogy of films to a TV show to the recreation of Flynn’s Arcade at their Tomorrow Land facilities. They actually plan on revamping much of the Tomorrow Land areas with Tron-stuff which is cool but I would likely spend most of the time at Flynn’s. The plans to renovate Tomorrow Land won’t be happening until 2012 so we know when to plan our trips. 🙂
UPDATE: Here is another pic from Flynn’s that was released today (click to enlarge). Looks like there is a Nintendo cab on the right. It looks like the black light isn’t on in the Tron cab. I am such a nerd.
Looks like I’m not the only one guessing at what cabs they are.
