Konami unveils new Bemani title Reflec Beat

When checking the AM-Net Blog this morning, they had an announcement regarding a new Konami title that we had not heard about previously called Reflec Beat. I thought that it might be another update to Jubeat/uBeat but details on the game were pretty much non-existent on that site. Fortunately, BemaniStyle.com has people checking out the location tests of DDRX2 and Jubeat Knit in Japan, where Konami decided to show off Reflect Beat for the first time, so they have a brief rundown on what we know about the game so far.

The game features a multi-touch screen set vertically and with an aspect ratio of 16:10. It’s a 2 player game – two machines can be linked together but if no human player is present, it substitutes a CPU one. The game works similarly to a console game known as Boom Boom Rocket but there are currently no videos of Reflec Beat in action so we will have to wait and see how this game differs. They don’t mention whether it uses the new e-payment system Konami was testing out with the other games on loctest there, Paseli but I have to imagine that it will since the other two titles testing there do.

You can read more about Reflec Beat here @ Bemanistyle.com.

UPDATE: Several Japanese game sites have been going crazy about this game. As Konami was sure to keep cameras away from the machine close-up, they have drawn out how the game works and described it further. Check Small Room Aries, this blog, and Goku2 for more details.
