With all the talk of nuclear disaster in the news recently, one place has been coming up again and again in that news and that is Chernobyl, in the Ukraine. I won’t go over the history of that city and what happened there but there was a small amusement park in the city. If you’re curious to see what that amusement park looks like today, you could make a trip to the city yourself or you can visit it from the comfort of your own home, which ever you feel is best. The virtual tour of that amusement park can be found here at 360cities.net as photographer Marcin Mroz. You can see the ferris wheel as above in more detail, a few rides, visit the bumper cars or the gymnasium. It’s fascinating and eerie at the same time, I wonder if there ever was a place where they housed some of those Soviet arcade games we’ve discussed in the past?

You can take the virtual tour here

There are a fair few abandoned theme parks (and abandoned sea piers in the UK) that make for great photography. Or a music video perhaps.
