Much like Golden Tee, every year you can expect to see some sort of new King Of Fighters game for arcades and while they aren’t coming out with KOF14 quite yet, a new update is going to be close with the new King of Fighters XIII Climax. For the moment that is all to be said about the game – I know the series isn’t near as popular as Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat but it still does have a following out there. I imagine that an official arcade release out West would probably do a little better than something like Blazblue did.

Essentially, it looks like Climax will bring the arcade version of XIII in line with the consoles. All 5 of the characters in the poster above (Saiki, Billy, NESTS Kyo, Mr. Karate and original Iori) are currently DLC characters for the consoles. The update will more than likely carry over the fixes to the glitches and balance issues that were addressed when porting XIII to the consoles as well.
Hopefully, this release will encourage more kits to be sold and imported. KoF XIII has proven itself to be a solid game within the fighting game community. It’ll even be making it’s EVO debut this year as the first KoF ever to be featured as one of the main tournament titles.
Yeah, like masterLEON said, so far, the info seems to be pointing at adding in the formerly console-exclusive characters and patching.
The bottom right corner says the game is location testing on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Club SEGA and SEGA Avion locations in Japan.
THE UPDATE WILL BE IN THE SAME TYPE X2 TAITO PLATFORM OR WILL CHANGE SYSTEM AND WHERE WE WILL UPDATE OUR POWER SYSTEMS THE ORIGINAL KING OF FIGHTERS XIII
