(Thanks to Kevin Williams for the tip)
While it has been difficult to quantify, it seems that pinball has been having a resurgence of late. With more developers jumping into the pinball manufacturing pool, that means that there are plenty of customers to sell to. When Stern released AC/DC pinball earlier this year, I’ve heard reports (again, anecdotes at this point since actual sales numbers have not been shared) that the game has sold extremely well in Australia, which makes sense seeing how AC/DC is an Australian band.
For pinball wizards anywhere near Newcastle, Australia (and about two hours north of Sydney), then you will be interested to know that the Newcastle Pinball Association is planning to hold their first ever pinball festival at the Caves Beachside Hotel over the weekend of September 8-9. They will have AC/DC there as well as a few other newer Stern games like Transformers and TRON Legacy. But overall there will be 50 pinball machines set to free play so there should be something for everyone at the end of the day. Unfortunately no official website seems to exist about it yet but I did find this on Aussie Arcade with a few more details.
