Several weeks ago I was tipped off to the opening of a new arcade in Wisconsin (thanks to Shane) but there was too little information at the time to run a story about it so I held off. Fortunately that has changed as the location has moved beyond their soft opening and is now looking for your business if you happen to be in the area. The name of the location is Rossi’s Vintage Arcade & Pizzeria in Monona, WI which appears to be a suburb of Madison according to the map. They show that the Midwest continues its little arcade growth spurt after the opening not long ago of the Underground Retrocade in East Dundee, IL. As their name suggests, food is an important part of what they offer and it looks like they have created a good atmosphere that fits into the eatertainment bill well. On the arcade side here are some of the games that make up their game room: Q*Bert, 280Zzzap!, Space Invaders, Discs of Tron, Heavy Barrel, Contra, Double Dragon, Joust, Robotron 2084, Pac-Man, Sea Wolf, as well as Pin-bot and Twilight Zone pinball. Here are a couple of videos showing their selection:
You can visit their Facebook page here.
We wish them the best of luck in their business and a welcome to the arcade business family!
Just visited this place yesterday! FREAKING AWESOME! I have an absolute obsession with retro stuff and arcades are some of the biggest. Living in the Madison area my hope for a retro arcade was non-existent. But then I stumbled across this place on the web and was blow away. I went with some friends and was blow away on how awesome it was. I wanted to spend the whole day there! The staff was nice, and the pizza… AWESOME! I will be back soon! So happy to have a place like this!
