Happy weekend arcaders! In case you haven’t seen it already, this weekend starts off with a bang with news of Sega and Codemaster’s next arcade racing game, Showdown. Check out this post with the exclusive details if you haven’t already!
In other news worth rounding up, video has come along of The Hobbit Pinball in action as seen at Pinball Expo 2014. It is hand-cam but it still gives us a good idea of how it plays:
Also here is some video from PinballNews.com showing more from the Expo:
Next up is another new location to find some arcade gaming goodness, thanks to reader CD ageS for the tip. We have had several new arcade venue stories this month but this is one we heard about a little while back. Round1USA has made waves with their three locations in California, bringing rare brand new Japanese arcade games to the States (with English software), a huge game selection and more. Now they are finally available elsewhere in the US with the opening of the Bloomingdale, IL location(two more locations are coming soon, including one in TX). Thanks to a Public Group page on Facebook, you can interact with some of the people there and here are a few pictures shared to that group below. They have some highly desired Japanese games, IIDX, Project DIVA Arcade, Initial D8 Infinity, Maximum Tune 3DX+, Elevator Action Death Parade, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Unlimited, Pump It Up Fiesta 2, Gitadora, Transformers: Human Alliance, Deadstorm Pirates, Heat Up Air Hockey, Nirin, Big Buck HD, Dead Heat Riders, BATMAN, Aliens Armageddon, Dark Escape 4D, Operation GHOST, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX and much more:
Name That Game #20 – So far, Horror Month with Name That Game has been pretty easy. Here are the answers for last week which were guessed quickly:
#2 – Resident Evil Survivor 2: Code Veronica by Capcom/Namco
3# – Psychic Killers Taromaru by Time Warner Interactive
And for this week:
Illinois is a step in the right direction. Now if they can push a little further East…
#1 is Nightmare in the Dark
#2’s name has eluded me for almost 20 years, if it really is the game I’m thinking about.
No Idea on #3, but it’s probably on that short list of laserdisc games.
#2 is Zombie Raid by Sammy
#3 is Esh’s Aurunmilla
Thanks, man! Been bugging me for years which gun game had an opening scene with game dev credits in it that you can shoot. Only saw it once, then it was gone the next time I went back to that arcade.
