Here is a later Newsbytes post, I’ve been busy editing a podcast so that it fits into a file size that the site will allow without destroying the quality but so far no luck. Between that and the video review I posted this week, there has been a lot of editing to do. Most likely the podcast will be left for Monday, my apologies about that. In the meantime, let’s take a look at other news to grace the scene at the end of this week.
Speaking of podcasts, I was a guest on the the Tenpence Arcade podcast, a podcast that generally focuses on retrogaming in the UK. I spoke a bit too much so some had to be edited out…if I knew they were going to discuss Volified I probably would have went on longer as that is my favorite Qix variation (which I would say I enjoy more than Qix itself :P) If you are interested you can listen to that here. Thanks to Shaun for having me on!
Rob Zombie’s Spookshow International Pinball – Boutique pinball has been tarnished by scams and incompetence lately but that doesn’t mean that such factors apply to everyone. Spooky Pinball made some headlines with the release of America’s Most Haunted Pinball and now they have a new license to accompany their second game, the freshly announced Rob Zombie’s Spookshow International Pinball. This has been hinted at by my podcast partner Sean McDermott for a while, who has seen some of it. Perhaps next podcast we’ll be able to discuss it a bit more.
Speaking of boutique pinball, Scott Flear of Home Leisure Direct put together this handy guide on Dutch Pinball’s upcoming The Big Lebowski Pinball. While it had been scheduled for a release earlier, some of those unexpected delays crept up. HLD also mentioned that they are the exclusive distributors of the home edition of Star Wars Battle Pod in the UK.
Jurassic Park Arcade Review – I have a few videos about the new Jurassic Park Arcade machine on the Arcade Heroes Youtube channel (which just passed 1500 subscribers, thanks!) but didn’t have an official ‘review’ so to coincide with the new Jurassic World movie, here you go!
The Grand Master 2015 – As mentioned a week ago, Akira’s The Grand Master 2015 Tetris-like arcade game began the location test today at Round1USA at the Puente Hills Mall, CA location. There is no dedicated cabinet for it here, they are running it in a Blast City Japanese ‘candy’ cabinet for now. You gotta love the warning on top of the machine here – ‘not for beginners’ 😉 :

Name That Game #47 – Due to my time being soaked up for editing the podcast, among other things, I will have to phone it in and skip doing a full Name That Game this week apart from this single gif:
Updating the post for this. First the answers from last week:
