Colorized Pinball Updates: Cactus Canyon; Family Guy; Congo; Dracula

Developments to colorize older monochromatic pinball machines continues apace thanks to the ColorDMD company. Since it has been a little while, here are the latest games to enjoy the wonderful world of color dots:

Cactus Canyon (Bally Williams)

Right before Bally gave up the pinball ghost in pursuing Pinball 2000 technology (and then gambling machines) was Cactus Canyon. It’s an original wild west/cowboy themed game…never come across one in the arcade wilds myself.

Family Guy Pinball (Stern)

Since this is a somewhat more recent Stern game, you’ve likely come across it out there (or the re-skin of it with Shrek). With Family Guy pinball being based on a cartoon, I think the colorization here blends perfectly with the aesthetic from the show.

Congo (Williams)

I haven’t played this one either but looking at it online, the volcano multiball idea is cool. Come to think of it, I never saw the movie nor read the book by Michael Crichton.  Although I do have and enjoy his books for Jurassic Park, The Lost World and The Andromeda Strain. Anyways, now you can add some more color to this game too.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (Williams)

The most recent ColorDMD release covers the popular Bram Stoker’s Dracula pinball machine. This also marks the 50th game that ColorDMD has upgraded with their displays and software. We’ve seen some crazy mods for this one before so getting it colorized seems like icing on the cake.

That’s all for now but we’ll keep an eye on further developments. Personally I’m still waiting for Indiana Jones (Stern) and Star Trek (Stern)…but with possibly selling my IJ soon, I’m sure that will be announced the day after I sell it off 😛

Which pinball machines are left that you would like to see this company colorize?
