Spider-Man Homecoming Videmption Arcade Lands Exclusively At Dave & Busters

If you are looking for some exclusive videmption content then Dave & Busters has it for you once again. Earlier this year, the company worked hand-in-hand with Adrenaline Amusements to create Pirates of the Caribbean Crossy Road. This was a variation of Disney Crossy Road (a game that Adrenaline still hasn’t listed on their website or social media but is apparently for sale) that was launched as a part of media hype leading up to the most recent Pirates of the Caribbean movie. It was also exclusive to D&Bs.

UPDATE: Turns out Dave & Busters launched an ad for this game yesterday but I missed that until now. Here it is:

Now if you go into a Dave & Busters, chances are you will find the same situation happening again as D&B has teamed up with Adrenaline again for Spider-Man Homecoming. As seen on location via Arcade Hunters:

Spider-Man Homecoming

It has been a while since Spider-Man has starred in a video arcade game. There was the self-titled beat ’em up in 1991 and he has appeared in some of Capcom’s Marvel fighting games. On the pinball side, the character did star in a 2007 table as well as the Vault Edition remake last year. For this one, it is based on the re-re-reboot (I’m losing track – and interest – at this point. Everybody knows the origin story to Peter Parker, move on already) of the Spider-Man franchise that is launching in theaters on July 7th.

By the reports of how the game plays, it is an “endless runner” style game that has you playing as Spider-Man against the Vulture. Run or websling along a path until you confront the Vulture. Beat him via button taps and win the ticket/coupon jackpot. The cabinet has a colorful design that departs from Adrenaline’s usual style (which you can see right next to it with Crossy Road Arcade) and it supports 2 players at the same time. It also looks like the control is super easy – just a single button control.

For anyone out there who has played it, what did you think?

I wonder if Spiderman is coming to the rest of the market, a la Angry Birds Arcade.

Hard to say – seems likely that this is just like Pirates – something developed to tap into the marketing of a new movie but if the movie flops then not much point in getting it out to the general market
