This bit of news should have run earlier in the month, but I wasn’t 100% sure about the release of this game until today.
That game is the second title by newcomer American Pinball, Oktoberfest: Pinball On Tap. This was first revealed in October of last year, showing off a new concept that is based on the popular German festival of the same name. The game has been designed by Joe Balcer, and offers something just for the many bar/arcades out there, where pinball is often a major draw.
According to American Pinball’s Facebook page, the first production models rolled off the line at the end of February. The website continues to mention pre-ordering, but with the Texas Pinball Festival taking place this weekend, they are holding a seminar on the game and mention that you can buy it. Seems to me that the TPF is serving as the “launch party” for the game, so we’ll consider it released as of now. Nitro Pinball has some Facebook video of this one in action.
American Pinball’s front page is also saying that they will be at Amusement Expo next week, although they are not on the exhibitors list. It could be that another exhibitor will have the game on hand, I’m just not sure who yet. Either way, I look forward to giving this one a spin soon.
