Boutique pinball maker Spooky Pinball is about to be extremely busy, as they’ve taken the unusual (well, down right unheard of in pinball land) move to announce not one but two brand new games. The first is John Carpenter’s Halloween and the second is Ultraman: Kaiju Rumble!. Pre-orders for both open up on Wednesday for Spooky Fang Club members, with general pre-orders opening up a short time later.
For them to be able to launch two games at the same time, it appears that both share the same playfield & shot layout, changing the look and the software to fit with the needs of the particular theme. Both games come with three mini-playfields (two playable), great artwork, LCD screens and RGB lighting; They are also available in three different models, with the Collector’s Editions coming with cool interactive toppers. Now for more specifics:
John Carpenter’s Halloween
Here’s the trailer for Halloween, based upon the horror film from 1978, and something that certainly fits with Spooky Pinball’s name. Battle Michael Myers and rack up those high scores:
The three models for this one are known as Standard ($6,995), Blood Sucker Edition ($7,995), and Collector’s Edition ($8,995). Hit up This Week In Pinball for more details on everything that this offers.
Ultraman: Kaiju Rumble!
If you are less interested in Halloween (or don’t find the theme fitting to your location), then they’ve got an alterative in Ultraman. Based upon the popular classic Japanese TV show, this one is definitely more family-friendly, but still deals with monsters in it’s own way:
I guess I missed the memo that their mid-tier editions are all called “Blood Sucker” instead of Premium, but the pricing and model structure is the same as with Halloween. Likewise, TWIP has a complete breakdown on what makes this game tick.
What do you think about these games – either one of them look good for your collection or route?
Don’t see many double titled tables too often. Last one was (IIRC) Family Guy/Shrek. GnR could possibly been better as KISS than Stern’s KISS.
Both look very cool, but I’m a huge Ultraman fan, so that one really takes me back to my childhood!
