LAI Games has announced that their latest VR arcade creation, Ubisoft All-Star VR, is now shipping. This is their second major VR arcade product, following up from 2017’s Virtual Rabbids: The Big Ride (another Ubisoft joint effort). Let’s take a quick look at what this offers, in case you had missed the news on it previously.
Ubisoft All-Star VR
For the background on it, after some location testing back in May Ubisoft All-Star VR was first officially unveiled at IAAPA Expo Europe 2024 last September, through LAI’s European distributors Sega Amusements. As mentioned above, it marks LAI’s second foray into VR and collaboration with Ubisoft, following on from Virtual Rabbids.
While Rabbids did do very well on the market, one criticism against it is that it was just a ride. There were no controls to interact with the environment. Given how well it performed earnings wise, this wasn’t a major criticism, but as competitors came along that did offer interactivity, it stood as one notch against it. To be fair, they addressed that partially in their Ultra HD update, which did add a ride level where it would automatically fire lasers in the direction you were looking.
Now with UASVR, that has been addressed, along with some other changes that look to make this stand out once again. For starters, the cabinet, which still employs D-BOX motion seats, it now uses a giant 17.6′ LED curved billboard screen and each player gets a hybrid mounted gun/steering controller.

The game uses DPVR E4 headsets and can also link two units together so that four players can participate simultaneously. I have not heard what the price is on these, although I would expect something close to what Virtual Rabbids cost. There is also an optional marquee that can be purchased for it. You can find the official page for it, here.
Gameplay
There are three “adventures” (the term used for levels) to choose from, along with four “teams” which come from popular Ubisoft games – Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Far Cry, and Just Dance. The villain in the game is Vaas Montenegro from Far Cry 3, who is doing his bad guy thing that players need to fight back against to “save the world”.
I did get to play this at IAAPA 2025, where I only had a chance to play one of the three adventures, and unfortunately I didn’t get the chance to play with someone else to see how it works in either 2 or 4-Player mode. After selecting your team, you pick the adventure, then it gets right into the scenario. What I encountered was a blend of non-interactive ride, driving, and shooting sequences, each of which would vary across the different adventures. I’m not sure how much if it might have changed over the past two months from then, however.
Note that this is exclusive to arcades, and it also marks the first release of the year, as far as I am aware. It should also be available in Europe too.
Did you get a chance to play Ubisoft All-Star VR, either at IAAPA or on location test? If so, what did you think about it?
