Arcade news has mostly slowed to a crawl post-Pokémon pinball reveal, with numerous stories developing in the background but still being kept quiet until closer to Amusement Expo next month (and a upcoming special anniversary post for a certain North American developer needing some final approvals…); however, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing out there to talk about. Today we have two recent game releases to acknowledge, as well as some news and a press release from site advertisers TouchMagix.
Perfect Pour Pabst Blue Ribbon Edition
First up, DSM Arcade have begun shipping the second* version of their influential drink pouring game, Perfect Pour, with the Pabst Blue Ribbon Edition. This offers up the same kind of gameplay that the original game came with, now featuring improved graphics, and the Pabst Blue Ribbon licensing. It is primarily available through two distributors, AVS Companies and Shaffer, but can also be obtained elsewhere. DSM have got the media kit and full game page for the PBR Edition here and here on their website.
For any arcade bars that exist out there, this should be a no-brainer to grab. While pretty much every location in that class wants a Midway Tapper, this is unrealistic now. Only 3,000 of those were made back-in-the-day, and not all of those will have survived for forty years. This offers similar but new gameplay in the same vein, and compared to other new games on the market, it’s quite a bargain (I don’t know the exact price, but the original game did initially sell for $5k – I’d be surprised if it’s drastically different than that).
*Technically this would be the fifth version of Perfect Pour, with Soda Slam!, Dr Pepper Soda Slam!, and Liquid Death taking up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th slots.
Dragon Kingdom
Next up is Dragon Kingdom, an Ace Amusement piece that is now shipping in North America through Amusement Source International. It was at IAAPA 2025 on Ace’s own booth, but unfortunately every time I saw the game, it was running with huge lag; as you can see in this video. However, it may have been the PC overheating or some other issue causing it to choke, rather than the game itself.
The cabinet uses the recent trend of putting two big monitors together vertically for a square-shaped view space; it also has a motion seat. The gameplay involves two fantasy/medieval warriors fighting hordes of creatures, occasionally riding a dragon. I’m not sure on the cost, but it is easy to guess that it’s a lot less than a Drakons: Realm Keepers does (DRK costing over $30k last I saw).
It’s also worth noting that both of these games are exclusive to arcades, giving customers something at your venue that they can’t get at home.
Shipping Soon From TouchMagix
Finally, one of our long-time advertisers TouchMagix have shared a press release that points out that their latest redemption pieces are either open for orders and are shipping soon (from mid-to-late next month), or are shipping out there already. They also have teased that there should be something new appearing on their booth at Amusement Expo, however we don’t know yet if that will be a mechanical redemption piece like most of these, or if it might be a videmption game. Stay tuned – once again, we’ll have a full preview of AEI up before the show starts in under a month from now.
