There are many video game developments that never saw the light of day. The reasons for them going unreleased are varied – perhaps a concept just wasn’t working out, the hardware wasn’t up to the task, it tested poorly, the budget ran out, etc.
Whether or not the games were released, teams of developers would often spend thousands of hours working on these titles. Often some very good ideas were going to be implemented in these games as well. So here is a graveyard of sorts to memorialize those releases. We will separate it out by company and will not claim that this is a complete list. However we will strive to make sure that the games were actually in development; otherwise a (Rumor) tag will be used. At the time of publication, this list is not yet complete – although to be honest, it probably never will be. If there are any glaring omissions, please let us know about it!
If you are an arcade developer with a project that isn’t listed, we would love to include your work on the site (where possible)!
