(Thanks to Rico for the info)
This next week expect to see most of the news coming from the Asian theater as two amusement-related events start on the same day. In Japan we will have AOU 2011 and in Taiwan there is the Taipei 2011 Game Show. We’ve already talked a little bit this week about the AOU event but we haven’t heard much about the Taipei show until now. The Taipei show isn’t centered on the out-of-home entertainment sector as console games will be well represented there but at least one company plans on pushing an amusement presence there known as Mega Biotech. There the company will hold two tournaments, one for Sega’s Project Diva Arcade and another for Namco’s Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion. For the former game, this will mark the first time a tournament has been held for PDA in Taiwan. Details on these tournaments can be found on this Facebook page and if there happen to be any arcade game announcements coming out of that show when it rolls around, we’ll be sure to share that with you.
And since we’re sort of on the subject of AOU, it looks like there will be several new fighting games to check out there, most of them done in 2D. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will head up the 3D fighter department there and I’m sure that will make a splash but what I still want to know is if Namco will be giving this Tekken a better chance outside of Japan than they did with Tekken 6.
