Following up on Midwest Gaming Classic 2012

Midwest Gaming Classic 2012 has come and gone and if you couldn’t make it, then here are a number of Youtube videos from the event that allow us the vicarious experience for the show.

General Overview – First seven minutes or so is of the many game console setups there; after that is the stores and at 11:12 in we get to the arcades and pinball. This lasts for the rest of the video, showing off many of the rarities on the floor, including a unique pinball machine called Whoa Nellie! Big Juicy Melons which was designed by Dennis Nordman who has created the new Wizard of Oz Pinball machine. That one is towards the end around 22 min.

Speaking of Whoa Nellie, here is an interview with Mr. Nordman about that particular machine and a few of the other things he is working on.

Ted Dabney Interview – One of the original Atari guys that you don’t hear from often, this is a nice long interview with Mr. Dabney.

Galloping Ghost Productions – Dark Presence – It’s been quite a while since we heard anything about this game, which is being produced by Galloping Ghost Productions. I believe the focus they have had on running their own arcade has put the game back a bit but with this appearance it says that a beta is 6-8 months out. Unfortunately there is no footage of the game in action yet, all they were displaying was a slideshow but hopefully that will be rectified with the coming beta. Here you get a pretty good rundown of what is involved with the game

BenHeck.com Experience – An interview with Mr. Heckendorn along with a look at his booth area. He talks a little bit about the Zombie Adventureland pinball project and clears up a few things about that project.

That does it for now from what I can find, hopefully it’s enough to tide you over until the next post. 🙂

Nice write up…looks like a great show. FYI in the last video, you repeated the one from before instead of putting in the Ben Heck Zombieland vid.
