Time Crisis 5 Confirmed – Focus Of NYCC Event To Be New Star Wars Arcade Game

UPDATE: Polygon.com has just confirmed what I heard from my source.  What will be at the NYCC event next week is going to be a new Star Wars game. That is just want I had heard along with it may use the Mach Storm cabinet for some dome screen action. So what you can expect is something along the lines of Mach Storm but in an X-Wing fighter.

Imagine this game with an X-Wing. That should do the trick

So this is a little odd. Yesterday as I was rushing around the city (moving houses so any posts this week will likely be brief), I received a text from a source that suggested that the big game Bandai Namco Amusements will unveil is not related to Time Crisis 5, as I had as my top guess in a recent post about the subject. What they say it will be is very intriguing but I need more info before going ahead on spilling those beans. I wouldn’t want to get this one wrong.

That said, the always reliable and credible AM-Net unveiled today that Bandai Namco is going to be holding some “Autumn new product business meetings” in a few weeks, which is typical for Japanese companies to do. With that they give us confirmation that yes, Time Crisis 5 is coming our way. BNA will also be showing off the arcade version of Tekken 7 at that time.

The source that texted me is a very reliable source that hasn’t let me down yet so this makes me wonder – could Time Crisis 5 not be the game that the NYCC event is all about? They suggest it is something related to a very big IP that would make more sense to show at a Comic Con but then again, they could take the opportunity to show Time Crisis 5 now and this other major project for 2015. May as well do the “two birds with one stone” approach since you will have all of that media attention going on.

As stated, I need more info/confirmation before divulging further but that is what I have to share for now. Comment away!

Wow.. Just wow. I can’t believe it after all this time. I didn’t think it would happen this year at the least since Namco are bringing out lost land adventure this year for the next. I wonder also if The house of the dead 5 will be just around the corner as both a new time crisis and the house of the dead tend to get released very close in dates to each other like the 4th both came out 2005, the 3rd 2002 and the second 1997 and 98 (although time crisis 2 came first).

If that’s not the mystery game then maybe it could be wmmt 4 showcase. You were right btw arcadehero about mariokart arcade gp deluxe needing an Internet connection as I saw a phone wire from the side of one of the cabinets with a little green square with a global icon with a slash.

I want to mention the IP that the mystery game is but at the same time I don’t want to be spreading rumors and be one of “those sites”. But the source has filled me in on various games in the past that all turned out to be 100% correct. I guess no spoiling of the fun until I get a picture at least 😉 But it is NOT WMMT. It is a very well known franchise, not something Namco normally deals with, if correct.

I have no idea what could be unless it were a point blank/gun bullet game in the series. The last game to come out was for the DS in 2006. Unless of course it’s tekken 7 which everyone knows but this time for the arcade?
So it’s safe to say it’s deffinatly not wmmt 4 that’s the mystery game?
Unless maybe it’s a new galaxian game in the series. Final furlong seems unlikley as I fail to see relation to comicon.

What I was told was not a Namco-owned property, it is a license from something else. Namco has been the last company to not go full bore down the licensing path but it looks like that might change and in a big way.

So it’s something that’s licenced huh? namco tend to create their own content and don’t oftern use licences other than wangan middnight which is based on a manga and gundam which hasn’t come out to the west anyway. it has to be the pokemon fighter possibly but a super smash broa arcade version would be ace 😀
