(Thanks to Jdevy for the tip)
November is one month where you can expect to hear a lot about new arcade games coming out of the woodwork as this month is like the arcade industry’s “e3” thanks to the IAAPA trade show. That show starts in just a few weeks where we can expect to play games that we have heard of and a few surprises that we hadn’t.
A short time ago, it was mentioned that a Ghostbusters videmption arcade game was seen out in the wild, although it was seen in the reflection of a Mega Stacker. Now Youtube user Jackpot Master has filmed the game in action. Previously it was difficult to tell what the controllers were but as you can see, these are a combination mounted gun with a ping pong ball launcher. It is a little odd to have a ball launcher for something known as ‘proton streams’ but it could just be that they appropriated an existing cabinet that uses that tech but the final release cabinet will be much different. It is always unknown at what exact stage that location test games are at in the development cycle (could be anywhere between 35% and 95%). From watching this, I would like to see more environmental damage to objects in the game, that was one aspect of that recent home version of Ghostbusters that was a lot of fun to play. Anyways, here we go:
There is no confirmation whether this will be at IAAPA yet but it certainly is possible. Looking at the IAAPA show map, ICE has a pretty large booth and last year they introduced a few new products including Kung Fu Panda Dojo Mojo. What are your thoughts on this new development?
