Last year we reported on the arrival of a new videmption arcade game based upon a mobile game known as Timberman. The quick style of play involves chopping down an endless tree while avoiding the branches that fall while you chop. Originally brought over to the states by European based Magic Play, the company has inked a deal with US-based Barron Games to handle exclusive distribution of the title in North America. Here is the trailer as uploaded to Barron Games’ Youtube channel:
I had a chance to play the game at IAAPA 2015 where it was the star of the Magic Play booth. As one of those “easy to learn, difficult to master” concepts, it works out pretty well as a videmption title. It does have a non-ticket/amusement mode available and it features a free play mode for locations that do not (or cannot) need to vend tickets or charge for the game. With the Timberman falling under Barron’s purvue in North America, it will be making an appearance at their Amusement Expo 2016 booth in Las Vegas on March 16th & 17th. Here is a flyer that shows the full line-up of titles that will be there:
The game is available for arcade locations to purchase now.
