Japanese owned Round1USA isn’t taking a break from keeping their locations up-to-date, here is some interesting news regarding their growth.
This thread over at the NeoGAF forums has some very interesting information to chew on about what the company is doing immediately and in the near future. It starts off by mentioning the following games as being available at their locations either for testing or on a more permanent basis: Groove Coaster 3 (which was released yesterday in Japan); Mario & Sonic Olympics (this is released by Sega in the US so should be there for a long time); NESiCAxLIVe support at all locations (i.e. nice selection of Japanese games available through the network); Ghostbusters (the videmption game), Disney Tsum Tsum Arcade (select locations) and Square Enix’s Gunslinger Stratos 2. GS2 is testing at 3 of their locations now, two in California and one in Seattle so should be interesting to see how the dual light-gun w/ thumb stick 3D movement game works over here.
Per this tweet, here is where the company plans on expanding
In 2016, Round1 will open in NY, GA, CO and PA. pic.twitter.com/FuNUisHieK

Translators have figured that several of those locations will be coming along in 2017, with three in 2016. (As mentioned in the comments, one is coming to Grapevine, TX). I’ve got a piece of PIU news for Dave & Busters but I’ll save that for a different post. In the meantime, what are your thoughts about this news for R1USA?

Very interesting, we need a place like this to come to Buffalo, NY and bring some unique games in (doesn’t look like its coming here yet though). I think this place very much has the potential to upset the stranglehold that Dave & Busters has on the market (not that that is a bad thing). Its also nice to see a chain expanding to other areas instead of just a few locations in a couple states. There is a huge mass of fans of Japanese culture in general here that would absolutely head right to this place, as we have an anime convention at literately every college in the area now and other standalone events that are well attended outside of the local colleges.
