Sega Posts 3 Direct Captures Of Mission: Impossible Arcade

Amusement Expo 2021 has come and gone, and I’ve been busy working on videos but also posting details to social media about some of the news there. I am working on a post to “wrap it up,” but that all will take some time to complete. Until then, some quick news here about a game that wasn’t present at the show – Mission: Impossible Arcade by Sega. This game was at Amusement Expo 2020, but due to the pandemic, it’s release was delayed a full year.

Mission: Impossible Arcade by Sega Amusements International

Since it has technically been available since March, some have been asking me where M:IA is in the US as…it’s MIA( so far). Sega has posted about locations in Europe that have grabbed it, but so far it’s unknown if any locations in the States have been able to get one. This is due to the current international shipping problems – the game is made in the UK, so it has to ship in via boat. As you may be aware, shipping is a bit of a problem at the moment, and not just from China. As it is, hang tight – they’ll show up here.

Anyways, as a promotional tool, Sega has posted three direct captures of the game to their YouTube channel. It appears to be done in single-player mode – one unique thing about this is that it’s designed to be played with up to four people, where there are two teams of two competing against each other, racing to complete QTEs as well as mowing down enemies faster than the other. When you’re in single player, AI takes over the empty slots. Also, this game is played using mounted dual pistol controllers, which certainly have a unique feel to them.

As for who is playing here, you can see a woman playing the game in the live camera in the upper right; I don’t recognize her, although she is wearing a mask so that makes recognition a little more of a challenge.

When you do come across this one out there, give it a spin; If you have played it already, what do you think about it?

Until my next Amusement Expo post though, if you want to stay up-to-date on the latest videos, you can follow this YouTube playlist here.
