MotoGP VR Is Now Shipping To Arcades Worldwide

Back in September of last year, a new VR game from Raw Thrills was spotted on test by the name of MotoGP VR. We saw the game at shows like IAAPA 2022, EAG 2023, and Amusement Expo 2023…but for those wanting to give the game a spin, it’s been a little bit of a wait – until now.

I have word from Raw Thrills that the game is shipping to locations that ordered one, putting this one into the July release category.

If you’re wondering what this game is all about, it’s a major update to the video arcade game that Play Mechanix developed and Raw Thrills produced back in 2015 – they’re not calling it a sequel, but in addition to the HP Reverb G2 headsets that allow players to look around their racing environments, they’ve also updated the graphics, the courses (“10 updated circuits) and the rider roster(“12 ALL-NEW bikes and riders”) to be in line with the current setup from the sport. One of those riders includes 2021 World Champ, Fabio Quartararo.

The game cabinet comes in 1 of 4 colors(red, green, blue, yellow), although it’s important to note that buyers cannot choose the color – you get what you receive. Your distributor should mention that but just something to keep in mind in case they forget. The game can also link up to 8 bikes and if any particularly rider wants to, they can play the game sans the headset. For anyone interested, they do have a flyer for the game here.

MotoGP VR by Play MechanixPricing always depends on your distributor but I’m hearing through the grapevine that these are in the neighborhood of $18,000~ each. The original game hasn’t been in production for a while, but I’m not sure what those are going for used.

Have you had a chance to play this yet? If so, what did you think of it? Did you like it more or less than the original non-VR version?
