EAG Expo 2024, the first of the year’s major amusement trade shows, is taking place in London, UK this week. We have already had some trade show action on the blog this year, but this was for the consumer-focused CES 2024 (check out our rundown of that here if you haven’t read that already).
EAG stands for Entertainment, Attractions & Gaming, and this expo takes place in London at the ExCel center every January. This year the show is being held across three days from the 16th to the 18th. The event has its roots in different shows held in the past, such as ATEI, but it consistently happens at the same time of year. I would compare it to Amusement Expo here in the States, a slightly smaller show than IAAPA.
Because it is rather close to that latter show, attendees to EAG can expect a similar event. As it is, I have not heard of any brand new games that will debut there – that said, there are often a few surprises and new titles that do show up from some smaller companies that don’t get announced in advance.
What Is Coming To EAG 2024?
Here is a quick rundown of the main companies that will be there and what they will have in terms of video games and pinballs (from what I know), plus a few bits of preview media that have been posted by them.
Bandai Namco Amusement Europe
I have confirmed that BNAE will not have “anything new that you haven’t seen before,” meaning no debuts of games like GoldStorm Pirates or Bike Dash Delivery. On the video side, there will be Dead Heat Unleashed and the Pac-Man range once again; also Drakons: Realm Keepers and NFS Heat Takedown (Adrenaline), as well as Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR and Fast & Furious Arcade (Raw Thrills), which BNAE distribute. For the likes of other non-video amusement pieces, they will have Tom & Jerry’s Kitchen Chaos (air hockey), Looney Tunes Red Zone Rush and Andamiro’s Spider-Man pusher.
Electrocoin
Electrocoin will showcase JAWS (Stern Pinball), Skill Shooter (Electrocoin), and Dance Dance Revolution A20+ (Konami), plus an assortment of redemption. DDR has been touted as receiving a new version by certain publications in the UK amusement press… but its appearance here is indeed just to promote another run of offline A20+ cabinets for Europe. It still looks unlikely they’ll officially upgrade to newer iterations or online functions any time soon. Here’s a poster showing all their current pieces:
Sega Amusements
Sega Amusements should be bringing along Apex Rebels (making its European trade show debut), Hyper Cross, Drone Racing Genesis, VR Agent, and Zombies: Ready, Deady, Go! for the video-based side of things. As recently seen at IAAPA 2023, they will have plenty of other redemption games at their booth too. SAI will also be hosting products from LAI Games after inking a new distribution deal with them for Europe. Ergo, if you want to see Asphalt 9 Legends VR (among others), check out the SAI booth.
UDC
UDC will have Bullseye: Crackshot, Galaxy Rangers DX, Parkour Motor 2, and Air Zone Deluxe from Ace Amusement, plus Step Revolution’s StepManiaX DX. They will also be representing one of our advertisers here, TouchMagix. For them, there will be Pop It!, Mega Blaster, and SpaceWarp 66 at the show. UDC also tend to have a strong selection of redemption and new videmption pieces on hand. These will likely come from the likes of Ace, Wahlap, Playmore and other companies that UDC distribute.
While those are the major players attending, a number of smaller companies will also be there. These include JNC Sales, Instance Automatics, Pinball Heaven, and Cosmic Leisure, although do note that they are mostly focused on exhibiting either redemption or existing titles.
There may still be others and other games at EAG 2024 – stay tuned and we’ll let you know, via our UK contributors that will be attending the show. What would you like to see there?
