It is now just over a year since Stern Pinball launched the last new addition to their Remastered range (Metallica Remastered), and ahead of their appearance at IAAPA 2025 they have just revealed the next in line: The Walking Dead Remastered. The original game was released back in 2014 and is a well-rated machine according to IPDB. The series still has legions of fans and now gets a second-wind on the market. Let’s take a look.
The Walking Dead Remastered – The Cabinet
The Remastered edition is coming in two flavors, Premium & LE. Both come with a completely new art package from what the originals used, and there are a number of other enhancements, including: illuminated zombie heads on the slingshots; an enhanced ruleset; SPIKE 3 integration; completely redone animations (now in 3D CG instead of the original red dot matrix); RGB LEDs; an 18.6″ LCD; a new high fidelity immersive audio system; Stern Insider Connected integration; and a “re-engineered and updated” crossbow mechanism (located behind the flippers) which has “increased precision and flexibility.” The LE version is limited to 500 units and comes with the Expression Lighting system for more of that visual flare. The features matrix can be found here (PDF)

The games are listed at an MSRP of $9,699 and $12,999, respectively.
The Walking Dead Remastered – The Videos
It’s always good to see a product like this in action, although there are many collectors who seem to buy based on the theme alone. Still, I do imagine that there will be a few locations out there to grab one of these (I’d be tempted as I have The Walking Dead Arcade by Raw Thrills and it’s consistently a top performer, but I just barely got a D&D Premium).
The first video is a quick trailer, then the second gets into more detail:
This game is available now, making it the first game available for the month of November. Are you looking at getting one?
