Finally, as we reach the end of July we are starting to get some major arcade news again. LAI Games had previously carried the arcade exclusive motorcycle racing game Asphalt Moto Blitz DX in North America, and now they are going to carry the ‘Plus’ upgrade, which comes with a completely new cabinet and updated software. This joins the arrival of Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus, which LAI is also handling. Let’s dive in.

LAI Games & The Asphalt Series
For a quick refresh, LAI Games has been working with Wahlap, IGS, & Gameloft since 2021 when they first released Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade to the market. That game performed exceptionally well on the market, netting over 10,000 sales worldwide (although I do not know what part of that was LAI’s; quite a few of those comes from China). Any game that makes over 1,000 is a success these days, so 10x that amount means that you’re going to see sequels & spin-offs.
Back in 2024, LAI then launched Asphalt Moto Blitz DX to the market in a twin model design. This took the Asphalt 9 Legends concept and applied it to superbikes / motorcycles. I got a chance to play it a few times at a trade show, where it’s a great game with fantastic graphics and sounds.
Asphalt Moto Blitz DX Plus
At the AAA 2026 Expo in China that took place back in May, Wahlap unveiled a major update to both Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade & Moto Blitz with the ‘Plus’ moniker. As mentioned, LAI already had announced that they are taking on the A9LP, with shipments to locations targeting September. You can see Moto Blitz Plus on the far left hand side of this image:
Like A9LP, this comes in a new cabinet design from what had been released previously, although both games share the same monitor style (a giant 85″ 4K screen oriented vertically). Where they differ on the hardware is the controller, with a very detailed, sculpted swivel bike that sits atop a motion base. Operators can link up to four units of the same game, although if you’ve got the budget & space for it, Wahlap recently unveiled that you can go up to eight by linking as much as four Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade DX Plus together with the Moto Blitz Plus for cross-play racing. That’s a neat idea, and certainly can become a spectacle for any location that pulls it off.
For the software side, you get what came with the original game, plus new tracks and bikes, bringing the total to “18 elite bikes & 23 tracks”. They also have a Ducati license here, which is one you’d want when it comes to high end bikes; they still should have the others such as Honda, Yamaha, KTM, Triumph, and Lightning. Graphically, this is still just as sharp as it was before, probably more impressive on that screen, although I have yet to come across one of these in person as of this writing. From the videos though, it certainly hasn’t been downgraded from what we saw on the standard Moto Blitz game.
As for price and ship date, LAI is currently targeting November, which will mean that it’s coming after A9LDXP, and it will be at IAAPA 2026; price is still TBD. They also should have the game page for this up within the next day or so, at which time we’ll update this space with a link.
