American Pinball’s Galactic Tank Force Victory Edition Coming This August

If you’re a pinball fan and want to celebrate “Christmas In July”, then this has been the week for you. I won’t claim that this is the last bit of pinball news, as it seems that there is some new surprise coming along every day. Today’s news comes from American Pinball, who recently teased their Cirqus Voltaire Reimagined, but before they unveil that one fully, they’ve got a new version of Galactic Tank Force coming soon, which does a little reimagining of its own. How so? Read on.

Galactic Tank Force: Victory Edition

Designed by Dennis Nordman and first released in 2023, Galactic Tank Force is an original, 1950s sci-fi style theme where an evil alien race, led by the Empress Annoya (played by the popular arcade actress, Kerri Ann Hoskins, of NBA Jam & Mortal Kombat fame), who is on an evil quest to kidnap cows for their milk to make ice cream. Sounds bonkers, but not every game has to be all serious, amirite?

American has done other models like a Signature Edition, and now they have a Victory Edition joining it in “August/September”. Like the other pinball machines we’ve talked about in the news this week, this is aimed at collectors, being limited to only 100 units. According to the press release, this is the final production run of the game, so once this is done, this game is done.

So what does it do differently from the other editions of Galactic Tank Force?

Galactic Tank Force Victory Edition

American had announced a couple of weeks ago that a company called The Art of Pinball was their exclusive new toy sculptor, and they are already being put to use as they have a new design for the tank that is rolling out with this model. On top of that, they will be offering 150 of these tanks in their store this Fall that you can use to swap out the tank on the existing model; there is also a new Captain Kyan Topper(seen on the VE above), which you can add to your existing game right now if you so wish.

But that’s not all, as commercials used to say. American is doing something unique here, in that they are giving existing owners the opportunity to add all of the new changes to their games. This includes 3D print files for the other toys, so if you have access to a 3D printer, you can make the most of it.

There are no layout changes, but there is new code (V26.07.27B) which is already available for existing machines and is receiving praise from players for the many changes/improvements it has brought to the table.

The rest of the improvements can be found on the flyer here:

As I have lamented on all of the other limited releases, the main issue is that very few of these will find their way out into the wild, although at the very least, them making the enhancements available (either through their own molded toys or through 3D printers) to existing owners allows them to make an almost Victory Edition. There aren’t many GTF’s out on the commercial market though, according to Pinballmap.com – I only see six that pop-up in searching across all models. There aren’t any in my neck of the woods though, so if I wasn’t in dire straights, that’d be a nice way to stand out among my competitors.

What are your thoughts on this update?
