Dream Arcades releases the Dreamcade Impact cabinet just for fighter games

Shaggy February 12, 2009 4

Street Fighter IV will be out for the consoles in just a few short days and while you could go and buy the Mad Catz sticks to get that supposedly authentic arcade experience, the da2f2company Dream Arcades has created a home arcade cabinet that is made just for fighters like SFIV. Users can plug a PC, Xbox 360 or PS3 into the cabinet and then start enjoying fighting games on the ‘real’ thing. It even comes with  Hyper Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III – 3rd Strike and Street Fighter IV to get you started. The press release after the break holds more details.

Ew. If an old standard definition tube inside a ugly wooden box is supposed to be the ‘Real thing’, I think I’ll stay home.

How about I just wait for the PC version to come out in June and build a proper HD cabinet myself..

Funny how you guys touch the fundamentals just as we discuss them.

There is a feeling that the current crop of home brew cabinets are ‘too’ old school. What is being suggested is a HD style slim home system.

With the appearance of the GX (gamedeck) MAME players want a slimline presentation, with better interface layout. Those table top game boxes was a start.

What do they mean “comes with xxxxxx”

Comes with artwork for Street Fighter III? Surely it can’t come with the game.
