Silent Hill The Arcade has officially launched in Japan and with it a batch of nice images have appeared via Game Watch. Konami has also updated it’s page for the game which includes a wealth of information about the game, in Japanese of course. The game is going to receive a limited Western release; how limited we aren’t quite sure.
These screenshots are considerably nicer than the few stills that Konami released months ago – very clear and detailed but it’s doubtful that it will sway the hardened Silent Hill fans that have already declared that the game is outside of normal SH canon and that it sucks (despite the fact that they have not played the game). Here are the screenshots for your viewing pleasure. Simply click on the thumbnails to have a better view:
Looks like Kotaku picked up on this news but they decided not to credit us – they also think the game looks the same which if you actually pay attention to the screen grabs that’s not the case, there are some nice lighting effects (with self-shadowing) and different textures that were not present in the previous screenshots.
Hi Shaggy – Kotaku seem to have taken it on themselves to copy Stinger, SPOnG.com and ArcadeHeroes copy, claiming it as their own with out crediting any of us!
I am evaluating how best response for their actions, but I also am hearing that IGN is also ‘borrowing’ copy?? When GameSpot starts then I will send out a general flame male!! (fat chance!)
