Next up as a part of our IAAPA 2010 coverage is Namco. Like Amusement Expo, the company had a large booth where Pac-Man was a big star but they also had plenty of other new content to offer such as:
Dead Heat – We’ve been following news of Dead Heat since earlier this year and this was the first chance I had to see and play the game. The avatar/social networking/ghosting system is a superb idea, this game also features great graphics, incentives for car tuning and more. This is available now.
Robo Restle – Robotics have great potential in the coin-op arena and Robo Restle is the first game in this area that I’ve played that wasn’t frustrating to control. The object is to tip your opponent over as many times as possible in the two minute time period. The game is not 100% complete yet with a new software version to come that features a narrator and more. Look for this in 2011; it was previously known as Robo-Basho.
Pac-Man’s Arcade Party – Namco’s new multigame cabinet fulfills the desire out there for people to get their hands on a Pac-Man cabinet while offering several other titles such as Galaga, Dig Dug, Rolling Thunder, Dragon Spirit and more. Available before Christmas
Other titles include: Pac-Man Battle Royale, Tank! Tank! Tank!, Razing Storm, DeadStorm Pirates, & Go Go Grand Prix. Also to answer the question about PMBR, that will be seeing a limited release by the end of the year, with a wider release coming sometime in 2011.
Be sure to pick 720p on each video!
