Two new arcade titles are now shipping out to amusement locations in the US and Europe, courtesy Sega Amusements. First is one game we’ve known about for a while – the standard version of their island hopping, co-op light-gun shooter Let’s Go Island which has a smaller monitor (32″) and lacks a seat, which it’s two deluxe cousins have. We had seen the standard edition in advertisements but it wasn’t seen publicly until Amusement Expo 2011 earlier this month.
The second game saw a bit of interest when it was first seen at a Chuck E. Cheese on location test this past January and since then it has been seen at two trade shows: EAG 2011 in London in January and Amusement Expo 2011 in Las Vegas. That would be Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Arcade. The game does differ from the home version in a couple of aspects, not just the additional hardware for controlling the game and the ticket redemption option but track selection is slightly different in that harder tracks from the game. You can read more about that and see videos of the game in action here.
Prices on both games will vary for operators depending upon where they buy it as will price for the players depending upon the location that picks it up. If you need help finding an arcade location near you, try either Aurcade.com or ArcadeFly.com, then you can call the place up and see if they will be getting these games. Thanks to our friends (and advertisers) at BMI Gaming for sending us the info on the availability of these games! I’ve also moved them into the Released categories on our New Games Watch tracking page.
