UPDATE: The cabinet and more details have been unveiled! Click here.
The other day a small blurb in a Namco press release unveiled that a new Aliens game would be showing up at the IAAPA 2013 trade show next week and today we have received a teaser flyer to promote the game. Called Aliens Armageddon, this flyer confirms that it has been developed by the same team at Play Mechanix which has been responsible for other coin crunching light-gun games including Aliens: Extermination, Terminator Salvation and Big Buck HD (among others, some of the staff there worked for Midway on some big 90s gun games like Terminator 2 or CarnEvil). From this flyer, I think the game they are referring to is Terminator Salvation. Here is the flyer (updated image from the original post with higher resolution)
The Alien 3D model looks quite detailed but the background showing building indicates battles on a colony or maybe Earth. It also looks like those buildings are cel-shaded. But we’ll have to wait for a screenshot to make a better guess at what it will look like.
This means that there will be at least two major licenses duking it out at IAAPA for the limelight – this and Sega’s Transformers Human Alliance. This also gives the Aliens franchise another chance to shine after the Colonial Marines debacle although I think there is no room to worry since completely different companies and a different format is involved.
We will have coverage of this and the other games when the show begins next week so stay tuned!

This sounds exciting, could be the next big thing from rawthrills and play mechanics since terminator salvation? I loved that game but only the mounted gun version as the light guns were often lagging and not calibrated properly to play I found but the mounted guns worked best. Do you know what the cabinet looks like arcadehero or is it to be seen soon at the show?
