It’s time for another look at new locations that have opened their doors out there (or will be opening soon). Let’s start with…
10x Gameroom Opens In Pulaski,WI
We’ll start today’s location news with a venue that involves a major game manufacturer: Bay Tek Games. The company has been involved with Gamergreen technology, which handles ticket redemption in modern way with QR Codes & scanners. This weekend, the 10x Gameroom “Powered by Gamergreen” tolled out as a flagship location that Bay Tek can use to get operational experience on top of what they already do. As such most of the games are from Bay Tek/ Skeeball but they have a few others there, such as Cruis’n Blast, Space Invaders Frenzy, and a Prize Cube crane machine. I was sent these photos by Sean McDermott of All Castle Games who also stated that the arcade is attached to a restaurant/café type place and is not manned. Part of the Gamergreen technology is to be able to handle ticket redemption without the need of a person there.
Taito Rolling Out Megarage Arcade Bar In Japan
This Thursday, Japan will get a taste of the arcade/bar craze as Taito opens up a new location that is going by the name MEGARAGE. The location is in Kawasaki and will feature drinks, food and games. While I haven’t seen a games list, some of the pictures from the MEGARAGE Twitter feed show Dariusburst Another Chronicle EX and modern LCD sit-down cabs that will presumably run Taito’s NESiCAxLIVE 2 network to gain access to many of the latest joystick controlled titles. I also spy Final Fantasy Dissidia Arcade in the background of the pic below. The main website for MEGARAGE can be found here. (Thanks to @supcat for the tip)

Revitalized Playdium Concept To Roll Out To 10-15 Locations In Canada
Recall that not long ago, Canadian operator/distributor Cineplex Starburst rolled out “The Rec Room”, a refreshed FEC theme and setup that now enjoys three locations in Canada. It turns out that it has been a success so will roll out a similar refresh to more of their Playdium branded locations across Canada. By the press release:
Approximately two-thirds of the complex will be dedicated to games and attractions for all skill levels and the other third will offer a range of fun and fresh food and beverage options. Serving up chef inspired burgers, pastas, pizzas, poutines and sweet delights, Playdium will feature a variety of casual food choices that will be fully customizable and hit the spot during a day or night of play. It will also have private rooms for birthday parties and special gatherings, as well as lounges for parents with views of the games floor. Playdium locations will also be designed to accommodate large groups, making it the perfect spot for events and team building.
Cineplex plans to open 10-15 Playdium locations in mid-sized communities across the country over the coming years, with its first planned for the Whitby Entertainment Centrum in Whitby, Ontario. Located at 75 Consumers Drive, construction on the over 30,000 square foot complex is scheduled to begin in early 2018, with a completion date targeted for later that same year.
You can expect these to feature a number of the latest game releases as they roll out
Tilt Arcade Bar Now Open In Greenville, SC
I had thought we mentioned this one already but I guess not. There are a few independent palces out there plus a chain of stores that uses the word Tilt so it can get confusing. Regardless, a few weeks ago a new arcade/bar opened their doors in Greenville, SC. This article in a local paper mentions how they have a selection of 30 games, pointing out the likes of: “everything from PAC-MAN and Asteroids to pinball, Space Invaders and Donkey Kong.” From a picture on their Facebook page, they also have a couple of pinball machines (Monopoly, Star Wars Episode I), a couple of skeeball machines and a new The Walking Dead.
The Operating Room Pinball Bar Arcade Open In Des Moine, IA
Thanks to @jaketoobies on Twitter for the tip about this one. Having opened earlier this year in June, this new “pinball bar arcade” is owned by an Orthopedic surgeon, thus the “Operating Room” name and logo. They have a modern arcade available to enjoy, with titles like Breakout (videmption), Cruis’n Blast, Luigi’s Mansion Arcade, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX, Pac-Man Battle Royale, Space Invaders Frenzy, The Walking Dead, World’s Largest Pac-Man and more. With pinball as a part of the name, they also have a nice selection of newer pins on tap: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Attack From Mars (Remake, I think) Batman66, Dialed In!, Game Of Thrones, Medieval Madness, Revenge From Mars, Star Trek (Pro, Stern), Star Wars (Data East), Star Wars Episode I, The Hobbit, The Walking dead, Whoa Nellie!, Wizard of Oz and more. It’s quite a nice looking game room they’ve put together; you can visit them on Facebook here.
That’s all for today!
