I’ve been meaning to get to this news about various new locations opening their doors but then IAAPA happened and it got thrown to the back burner. I still have more games to discuss that were at the show but until I can get those remaining videos thrown together, let’s talk about new arcade locations to open up recently!
Press Start Arcade & Bar Opens in Reno, NV
(Thanks to Jdevy for sending this one in)
This location post is bar/arcade heavy so we’ll start with a new one opening up in Reno,NV. They currently operate 36 games – almost all of the video titles are classics including Asteroids, Double Dragon, Dig Dug, Dragon’s Lair, Frogger, Joust, Marble Madness, Punch-Out, Rampage, Tempest, Toobin, X-Men and more; the one new game is The Walking Dead. For pinball they have newer stuff mixed with old: Attack From Mars Remake, Batman 66, Dialed In!, Eight Ball Deluxe, Star Wars and more. Their website is here; Facebook can be found here.
Arcade Legacy Location #3 (Newport, KY)
Arcade Legacy has expanded from Ohio into Kentucky now with their 3rd location, having opened last Friday. They use a single fee charge to let you play from their large selection of about 60 games, which includes: Choplifter, Colony 7, Elevator Action, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Q*Bert, Street Fighter II, TRON, X-Men and more. They also have a few older pinball machines on hand to play. Read the full games list here on Facebook
Bar Elena Opens In Washington D.C.
While not offering a large number of games, this new bar & restaurant in DC is offering some arcade goodness for patrons to enjoy while they wait for their food. Games include a GlobalVR Classics, Indiana Jones pinball (Stern); The Sopranos pinball and a pair of classic Skeeball alley bowlers. Their official website is here while an article getting into more detail about them is at the DC Eater.
Quarters Arcade Bar To Open In Salt Lake City, UT
(Thanks to Gavin S. for the tip)
Utah has a bit of a reputation in regards to various things, the consumption of alcohol among those. While there are not many bars in the state, there are a few and with that the bar/arcade trend is finally going to land in Salt Lake City when Quarters Arcade Bar opens their doors. I’m not quite sure when that is going to happen yet as they have applied for their liquor license but things like that take time. I haven’t seen much about their game selection other than WWE Superstars and a Hook pinball but I’m sure more will pop-up as they get closer to opening sometime “this Winter”. Check out their Facebook page here.

If you hear about more places opening their doors, let us know!
Round 1 has been expanding like crazy. I just hope they are able to keep all these locations up and running. While not arcades, lots of businesses ran into trouble because they experienced a boom in business and expanded left and right, only to not be able to sustain each location once things leveled out.
There will be a new barcade (Versus) opening some distance away from our area, which is in Uptown Parade, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines. I guess it will be similar to the ones posted above, with retro games as well.
