It’s been a spell since we had some news from American Pinball, but that changes today as they have begun shipping the Signature Edition (SE) of their most recent pinball design, Galactic Tank Force. Let’s take a look:
What Is Galactic Tank Force?
For a quick refresher on Galactic Tank Force, this is an original non-licensed design by Dennis Nordman. It employs a 1950s sci-fi theme with some tongue-in-cheek humor about aliens abducting cows for their milk, whilst using tanks to enforce their will upon the world. It’s a great looking game that I wasn’t terribly good at, but the has been out since March 2023.
I have not heard about how the game is doing on location, although to be fair, I don’t see pinball on the very few earnings reports that come around these days. A nice thing about American Pinball is that they are competitively priced, with their standard models coming in below Stern’s Pros.
Signature Edition Details
The Signature Edition was revealed at the same time as the Standard, standing out with a unique cabinet. Here’s Dennis with an early version of that build; Yes, it still looks like a tank when you fold the backbox down:
Per the flyer below, the cabinet looks to be about the same, but they have a “package” of extra goodies that comes with the purchase of said SE model. These are: Two different 18×24″ GTF promotional posters; A 36×60″ promotional banner; A branded tin lunchbox & thermos; A playfield cover, and a special edition pint glass. There are only 200 of these being made, so once they’re gone, they’re gone:
As this flyer also points out, it comes with the tank tread panels which have animated LED lighting, light-reactive toys, unique art & powder-coated pieces, and is signed by the whole team.
I have to imagine that finding one of these on location will be difficult, since most will likely go into personal collections but sometimes these ‘unicorns’ do appear in the wild.
How about you? Are you looking to grab a Galactic Tank Force?
