ExA-Arcadia Puts Daemon Bride exAGAIN & Jamjam’n Jelly EXALENTE Up For Pre-Order

Summer is here and while that often means a slowdown in new game announcements, that hasn’t been an exclusive phenomenon in recent years, thanks to certain companies whose business model allows them to release content at other parts of the year. One of those companies is exA-Arcadia, whose focus on kits allows them that kind of flexibility. They’ve got two games ready to go, so let’s check them out:

Daemon Bride exAGAIN

First up is a 1v1 fighting game that was first released exclusively to the Japanese market back in 2009 by the name of Daemon Bride. Produced by exA-Arcadia (licensed by Team Arcana of the Arcana Heart series), this involves angels and demons duking it out for dominance(or rather that you join one of their sides on a crusade), with a bit of Arcana Heart style gameplay behind it. This one has been teased for a few years now, so this is good news.

This ultimate edition is the first time that the game will be widely available outside of Japan, being the first time that the game has received an English translation. It features a “completely rebalanced” core game by the original DB designers and “numerous gameplay bug fixes requested by the community.” There’s a new training mode in place so you can practice movesets with different characters (a mode that is included in most exA fighting games), low input lag, selectable Simple or Normal controls (i.e. beginners or hardcore players), and a “completely rehauled” graphics engine that provides for sharper sprite rendering, clearer audio, and a remastered opening sequence into HD.

Do you prefer shoot ’em ups over fighters? Then you’re in luck, as this game expands exA’s library on that side as well – and it appears that this will be a full exclusive to the platform. Jamjam’n was announced as far back as 2022, and we’ve seen it a few times over the past few years, seeing changes along the way. If you are unfamiliar with it, it is an ocean-themed sidescrolling bullet hell shoot ’em up – almost a cute ’em up, where you can find elements of Cotton here, then some dashes of Darius.

For other elements you might care to know: There are two characters you can choose from, two play modes (arcade & score attack), a branching stage system, full voice acting, and low input lag. The kit comes with the standard items (A1 poster, instruction cards, the cart):

Both of these games will begin shipping out in July, while they can be pre-ordered right now. For exA operators out there, do either of these appeal to you?
