Pump It Up Prime 2 Unveiled

Andamiro has launched a new teaser trailer to promote their upcoming Pump It Up Prime 2 video arcade game. This is coming along just in time for Konami to ramp up DDR production in the West, so it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out. For Prime 2, the software continues to build on the PIU design with new modes, features and songs. This will include songs from Unit-E Technologies’ NEON FM, which already has some PIU songs on it, you may recall. This upcoming title also has improved online features, a new RFID card system and a new LX cabinet design:

Here’s the 720p trailer to check out:

I know that when I was in arcade game sales, it is very annoying to not have an easy breakdown of the differences between the different PIU cab configurations and what I/O board was required. Hopefully Andamiro will be able to provide such info as to what this new cabinet will handle as they will certainly offer kit upgrades, as they have done in the past.

The last time Andamiro officially rolled a new PIU game they did so at IAAPA so we will expect to see PIUP2 in Orlando this November; one tweet I saw mentioned a December released.

What do you think about this upcoming title?

I haven’t come across a pump it up game for years even the older versions. I still come across the dancing stage game that was released 16 years ago and is still popular to this day yet the newer machines are harder to find. They need to bring back more dancing games and also especially up date the song list. The dancing stage game still plays the boy zone song which was from the 90’s.

Depending where you live, Pump it up is way more abundant here in the United States than DDR. Although DDR Started to come alive recently. You can see dance machines, in Main Event, Dave and Busters, Gattis Pizza, Movie Places, Round 1.
