Konami’s latest concept in rhythm gaming, Reflec Beat, has landed in Taiwan and Konami Asia along with the Saint-Fun Corporation are already preparing to hold a tournament for the new game called the “2011 REFLEC BEAT Taiwan Grand Prix”. Here’s the rundown of the upcoming event so far:
“2011 REFLEC BEAT Taiwan Grand Prix” will be jointly launched on February 12, 2011 at Wawagu Taipei Gongguan (娃娃谷台北公館, opposite way from National Taiwan University, near Taipei MRT Gongguan Station) and Sanchung T-Movie Square (三重天台廣場).In recent, some warm-ups were held in several stores including Dino World Lion City (迪諾台北獅子林), Sanchung T-Movie Square, Wawagu Taipei Gongguan. Those took good effects for main match promotion and popularity of Konami e-Amusement Pass & RFID Token system applications.
The site manager will bring more match information after Saint-Fun Corporation, the game operator, releases the official rule of the “2011 REFLEC BEAT Taiwan Grand Prix”.
If you’re interested in seeing more about this tournament as well as seeing plenty of photos of crowds lining up to play this game in Taiwan, you can visit the Facebook page setup for Reflec Beat Taiwan.
UPDATE: The rules for the event have been released.
I do hope that reflect comes out here unlike the failed jukebeat on location test. I bet some of the reason juke beat didn’t come out was the price of the game and all those tiny button monitors. Hopefully they might give it ago in the west this year with this game since it can’t be that expensive than what juke beat was.
