While California Extreme tends to soak up most of the headlines for arcade machine get-togethers, it is not the only event of it’s kind out there as we have seen a big increase in such shows in recent years. One of those events, now in it’s 4th year, is Arcade Expo in Banning, CA.
The event takes place at the massive Museum of Pinball in Banning, a location we have discussed before. It starts on Friday March 16th and goes through Sunday the 18th, bringing together a huge number of arcade and pinball machines to play (link shows a partial list; there is an entry fee but games are set on free play).
Apart from that, there will be speakers and a number of tournaments to enjoy, from a blind draw, round robin event held by Sid Seattle to new world record attempts at games like Galaga, Bust-A-Move, Donkey Kong (through another Kong Off) and more.
A flea market / swap meet will be available so you can buy parts, vendors selling other items and other additional fun. To get a solid idea of what to expect, here’s an hour long video captured from the event last year:
