Touch Magix Issues Free Updates For SpaceWarp 66 & Carnival Cups

As manufacturers continue to get back into the swing of things, they are not only keeping things moving on the development of new titles, but also in supporting their older ones. This is particularly true of games that were released at the end of 2019, which really didn’t get a chance to breath on the market, thanks to you-know-what.

Today, Touch Magix issued a free update for two of their late 2019 titles, SpaceWarp 66 and Carnival Cups. The details are laid out in the press release below, but before we get to that, let me get you up to speed on these games in case you missed the news on them previously.

Both titles were first shown at IAAPA 2019, with SpaceWarp 66 getting most of the attention from what I observed at the time. That said, I’ve seen Carnival Cups at a local bowling alley in my area, so that seems to have done well among FEC buyers.  SpaceWarp also received what they are calling a “Barcade Mode” update back in March 2020, although since that was the month that the lockdowns really hit the US, I wouldn’t be surprised if many ops missed that news (it’s Amusement Mode where you just keep playing for points instead of tickets). Here’s that version of SW that I played at Amusement Expo 2020:

The new updates adjust some things about the software on both games, based upon feedback that TM has received from locations. SpaceWarp has some adaptive difficulty now and allows those using the “barcade” mode to vend a single ticket for beating the posted high score so you can turn it into the location for a prize (that’s similar to what we’ve seen on things like Beer Ball or Family Guy Bowling, although those came with a thermal receipt printer). Here’s the new attract video that Touch Magix sent my way:

Software 3.0 for SpaceWarp 66 & Carnival Cups

June 14, 2021

TouchMagix releases free software updates for their hit titles SpaceWarp 66 & Carnival Cups

Featuring new Attract videos, adaptive difficulty levels and new Barcade features.

With Covid-19 vaccination in full swing, the Amusement and Family Entertainment Industry is getting back to regular footfall levels. TouchMagix, a manufacturer of new-age redemption games, has been working on taking their arcade games experiences to the next level.

“We’ve been conversing with our partners in the industry to understand ways of enhancing  our arcade games’ experience. The latest software releases have been designed to meet the demands of our partners, and to provide even better experiences to our patrons,” said Jayesh Kariya, CEO of TouchMagix.

The hit game SpaceWarp 66 3.0 software update comes with:

  • A new and improved Attract Video and Sound to pique interest.
  • Adaptive difficulty level based on the users skill for the first 10 rings in Redemption Mode.
  • New update for Barcade Mode to beat the high score. Barcade mode sets the machine to dispense 1 ticket for beating the daily or all time high score, which can be redeemed by patrons for food or drinks.

The popular game Carnival Cups 3.0 software update comes with:

  • New and more achievable game length setting of 4-level gameplay instead of 5-levels, to enable more repeat plays and quicker turnaround on busy days.
  • Game length setting choice for operators between 4-level and 5-level, with default set to 4-level gameplay.
  • Changes to Attract Video for improved communication of payouts and stages.

The software upgrades are free for existing units and come built-in with new units shipped. Operators can contact their local distributor or send an email to <support at touchmagix dot com> to avail this free software upgrade.
