Arcade Recap: Top Gun Maverick & The Wizard Of Oz (Raw Thrills)

This edition of Arcade Recap is going to cover two of Raw Thrills’ recent debuts, as the company was kind enough to provide updates on these titles that they showcased at Amusement Expo 2025. Let’s take a quick dive into both Top Gun: Maverick and The Wizard of Oz.

In case you missed our previous recaps, check out Maimai DX and Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars.

Top Gun Maverick

The biggest debut for Raw Thrills at the show was their first aerial combat game, Top Gun: Maverick. Giving you four different fighter jets to choose from and six missions to tackle, this is an action packed shoot ’em up that is already available in a limited sense if you visit your local Dave & Busters. Let’s provide a quick update on that however, after the video:

Notable details or changes since Amusement Expo

  • The game is available now outside of the USA. It will become widely available in the US in June
  • Pricing is similar Fast & Furious Arcade DX, which was in the realm of $25k per unit
  • There have been some adjustments made to the gameplay, but nothing content related. “How you fly” was mentioned, so it might include changes to the virtual ceiling you could sometimes hit, depending on the level.
  • No changes to the controls/hardware

Wizard of Oz

We had covered Raw Thrills’ new videmption take on The Wizard of Oz right before the show, but it did get a little bit lost in the shuffle (in that I didn’t film more of it than what was seen in the Raw Thrills booth video). I clipped that out, which you can watch here, then we’ll discuss a few details:

For the details:

  • Shipping in May, worldwide
  • The game as released will be what you see above
  • Operators can deactivate the cards if they wish, however, the game tested against Monopoly RNG with the cards where WOZ consistently outperformed RNG
  • Price will be “similar to, but lower than” Monopoly RNG

Anything Else?

I’m sure there are those wondering about Godzilla Kaiju Wars VR and Minecraft Dungeons Arcade Series 4, both of which were also at Amusement Expo. We do have some updates forthcoming there, but nothing that is ready for wire at the moment. Please hang tight, and we’ll let you know as soon as is possible.

Aside from that, which of Raw Thrills’ new games are you looking forward to the most?
