Just a quick post here, but it’s worth noting that Konami has released the latest version of their iconic DDR series in Japan, by the name of DDR A20.
The “20” part of the name is to indicate that this is celebrating 20 years of Dance Dance Revolution, further enhanced by the appearance of the golden game cabinet. I know they aren’t related at all, but the gold finish reminds me of the golden carts for The Legend of Zelda on the NES. 😛
Konami posted this livestream of the game, which went on for almost two hours:
Locations that grab two of them can also grab a sound guard:

Chances of this showing up in the States? You’ll find it at Round 1 USA, but good luck elsewhere. Like Konami’s other games of recent memory, there is no official production & distribution on the US side, so you’ll have to hope that a location near you imports it (and by my understanding, you have to import quite a few of them to even buy it, you can’t order just one).
Chances of this showing up in Europe? Pretty good, thanks to Electrocoin. They have DDR A listed and available for Euro locations to add to their selections, although I do not know how much they are going for.
What do you think about this? Discuss it on our forums!
Chances of this appearing in Europe are extremely low, we can’t use the online connectivity which limits the game to its most basic features and doesn’t let you unlock new songs.
That’s e-AMUSE thing has been an issue for way too long. It’s crazy just how much we rhythm gamers crave more support from Konami yet they never listen. I want DDR A20 in America so badly. Here’s hoping a local distributor miraculously picks it up.
Hey Adam,
As you know, I did the EU e-amuse test at Las Vegas Soho in 2016.
DDR Gold will not appear here. There is no option to put it online on the Ace cabs.
Sorry guys.
I’m curious as to why Electrocoin is still promoting DDR A then? If the game can play without online (obviously no updates that fans demand), it’s still playable.
good that this won’t appear in the EU. you should be playing better games like racing games.
It’s still technically playable, but there are lot of missing features. From what I’ve heard, a huge chunk of post-release DLC (songs, charts, missions, events) is missing. Maybe Konami could release a physical, offline update with the lifetime content for European cabs once Ace goes offline worldwide. That might help.
