Considering how many shows there are at Earls Court each year, let alone across the whole country, it’s pretty impressive that the ATEI has been nominated for this award. I’ve always thought it’s been a great show, but saying that I’m a little biased and also I don’t go to many different shows other than this one. Read on for the whole story….
“ATEI, along with ICE and ICEi, has been short listed in the Association of Event Organisers’ (AEO) Trade Show of the Year category. ATEI and its co-located sister shows join four other UK-based events on the AEO judging panel’s final five. John Fenna, Clarion ATE’s head of marketing, said that the London Show was up against some ‘fierce competition’ in the AEO Excellence awards, which he dubbed the “‘Oscars’ of the exhibition industry.”
“Submissions from hundreds of events have been whittled down to a shortlist of just five,” he added, “comprising World Travel Market, The Furniture Show, Brand Licensing — which is aimed at international property owners and agents — IPEX, the print publishing and media exhibition held every four years at the NEC, and ourselves.”
Fenna added: “From an exhibition professional’s perspective, the London Shows are of note for many different reasons, not least because of the personality of the industries they serve, their ability to consistently attract buyers from over 100 nations, the role they play in generating significant volumes of business and their ability to deliver and remain relevant to organisations of all sizes and structures. To have reached this stage of the Awards is a great achievement and reflects the unstinting support and commitment of our customers – visitors as well as exhibitors.”
