The Midwest Gaming Classic, the largest classic video and arcade game convention in the midwestern United States is coming to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin this upcoming weekend – Saturday, March 29, 2008 and Sunday, March 30, 2008.
The convention hosts one of the largest pinball rooms at any classic gaming convention, as the midwestern United States has always been the home of pinball. Stern Pinball, the only coin operated pinball manufacturer in the world is sponsoring the event.
If you’re more into classic video arcade machines, you are in luck as well, since the gameroom at the Midwest Gaming Classic has plenty of video arcade classics on hand as well.
There is something for everyone, as there are also plenty of classic video game consoles and computers at the Classic Gaming and Computing Museum. The show also showcases the underdog systems, those systems that had some good games but never clicked with the mainstream market, at the Underdog Chamber. The Underdog Chamber also has a large selection of games playable for the Atari Jaguar at the Jagfest.
I have been to the Midwest Gaming Classic twice, and I highly recommend it. If you are in the area, be sure to check it out. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
