With January upon us, comes another arcade event where new products are shown off in London, UK. This is the first look as provided to us by The Stinger Report – more pictures and videos will be coming soon from our very own Nik Thorpe who has been at the show as well, so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, here is what Kevin Williams had to share with us.
Let’s start off with some new products that we hadn’t seen in previous events like IAAPA.Here is the IP Media Unit, destined to make urination in public, well, interactively enjoyable. Uritainment if you will. There’s that along with Kevin having a little fun at Sega’s expense.
Just when you think that there are no new ways to do something with Tetris in arcades, something else comes along to challenge that, such as this LED Tetris game by Heber. It’s still Tetris but with the footpad and the LED graphics. It could have just as easily been called Giant Tetris, had Sega not picked that up a couple of years ago. Then again, due to the appearance, I’m sure it already has the nickname “iPod Tetris” or “iTetris”
For the moment that does it for the new-new stuff, although there is some content there that is making it’s first European appearance. As we had mentioned in a post previously, Step Evolution’s ReRave made such appearance at the show.
Namco’s Pac-Man Battle Royale Deluxe was on-hand, this photo features a few people I know from the shows, starting at the left Chris Cotty of Coast-To-Coast Entertainment, Sam Ven and Frank Cosentino of Namco America and then two gentlemen whose names escape me at the moment (sorry!).
Wahlap/IGS’s Power Truck is making the rounds, although I’m still not sure the exact availability of the game.
Stern’s AC/DC Pinball was there to draw some attention
As was Raw Thrills’ Dirty Drivin’
Speaking of Raw Thrills, here is ICE AGE, which they developed for ICE. This was at IAAPA as well, one videmption game with a strong license.
Looking out at the Sega booth from inside a Trio Tech XD Dark Ride Theater. Virtua Tennis 4, GRID and Let’s Go Island 3D. Operation GHOST is hiding out in the second picture.
Taito had a small presence through their partnership with Electrocoin. Instead of Sonic Blast Heroes it’s not called Real Puncher 2, I wonder why the name change.
Well that is it for now. As mentioned, stay tuned for more!
Please tell me darius BAC was there { ^~^}
BTW BLOODY HEL!!!! That rerave game cabinet is huge and way bigger than I thought it would be
thanks for the pics and info!
Will part 2 be coming soon?
Yes I was just waiting for Nik to post his EAG Show Review first.
