It’s another one of those days where news to share is mostly in video form. First off is a new book by Sean “Gozer” Newton called Grails. It is a coffee book that covers 50 highly coveted arcade games, not necessarily big sellers, just games that collectors go crazy over for whatever their reasons might be. Gozer created the 3D SketchUp cabinet for our Firefly Arcade joke this past April Fools. Here is the trailer for the book, you can find out more about it with a preview or order from Blurb.com.
I was sent this by Coin-Op TV a playthrough of Capcom’s Knights of the Round with commentary by Roger “RoG” Barr of i-Mockery.com.They cover all sorts of things on their site, including arcades on occasion, such as this 50 Greatest Arcade Cabinets in History feature. In regards to KotR, I think that if someone was to give a beat ’em up like this the artwork of something like KOFXIII then it could do decently today.
At last but not least is an interview of myself by Mark Bussler of Classic Game Room. Visit their site here where you could spend a long, long time pouring over their content of reviews, interviews and more about video games old and new. We discuss my own arcade along with thoughts on the modern arcade sector. Unfortunately in the first interview I gave what I thought was a lousy answer on the mdoern arcade in particular so yesterday I recorded a new answer about that which I post below the interview. Thanks to Mark for the opportunity, as well as Bryan Adler for getting the interview happening in the first place!
Great interview, Adam! Now, let’s cross our fingers and hope for that CGR Dariusburst AC review! 🙂
