Last week we broke a story on a new interactive motion theater that was being prepped for an appearance at the IAAPA 2014 trade show. The hardware was called Valkyrie by Simuline and the first game to grace the platform is called Project HADES, an original zombie shooting game designed by Specular Interactive. Today thanks to Specular Interactive, we have the first screenshots from Projet HADES to share, just click on the images below for a full view:
I should mention a content warning for blood & gore in the pics, which is expected with zombie games(however the blood/gore is an operator option so they can shut it off if they so desire). As such I’ll post the Project HADES logo first then onto the content
All of the images came in 1920×1080 so we should be able to assume that the video will run at 1080p. Specular is also really good on frame rates with all of their other games so 60FPS or higher is certain. This is the first motion theater ride/game to use Unreal Engine 4. From these photos you can see that there is more than one target reticule type, which changes appearance depending upon what weapon the player is using. That is already a different from the zombie shooter games I have played on the Triotech and Alterface platforms, which only gave the player one weapon type and a small colored dot for the targeting. Keep in mind that for every ride, the content on the front and back screens are different, which was done as a way to incentivize repeat play.
Project HADES will be playable at the Simuline booth, #2269 (which I believe is in the back of the center from where most people will enter). I will be sure to report some hands-on thoughts about it when I check it out then.
looks and sounds scrumptious! cant wait for vids
Specular is awesome at making these arcade games! I hope my local arcades pick this up!
