Step Evolution Announces ReRave Plus Arcade

For months, ReRave.com has shown a countdown on their website although it did not suggest exactly what the countdown was for. The countdown ended today coinciding with the IAAPA 2013 trade show and with that, the next generation of ReRave has been announcedReRave Plus.

As seen in the video below, the game has new songs, a new UI design and graphics, a ticket redemption option (I know at least one operator that did not want to get the game until that particular option was made available) and of course a completely new cabinet. It uses a sleek, eyecatching design with more LED lighting, curves on the cabinet as well as  two screens, similar in that regard to the DJ Max Technika design. The touchscreen portion is a bit smaller than the original release (which was 46″ – no indication of the exact screen size for Plus) but it still looks to be able to handle two players

There will be an upgrade kit available for existing ReRave Arcade machines and the software will also be made available for Android devices. I presume that the arcade version will still have a few exclusive songs but we will have to wait and see for more details.

Whoa. That looks very neat. I love the new design. I still love the big screen, but this new design is crazy awesome. Seriously looks on par now with something from Konami, which is a huge achievement knowing how small the ReRave crew is.

Hope it does well! Need to see these guys make more games since they’re some of the friendliest people and super receptive to their player base.

Would be great if the upgrade kit adds those curved pieces on the side 😛 I suppose you could add a second monitor to the existing model, would have to try that out.

ReRave looks so much better. If only the music could be diversified a bit. WIth Technika is out of the runnings it would be good to have a worthy successor. The only thing putting people off is the music selection.

So excited! This is easily the next game we’ll pick up for our arcade. The cabinet looks awesome and I can’t wait to try it out!
